Doors and windows

I'd like to say something profound about
all the doors and windows opening ahead for this busy bee
but as we've just handed her back fed, watered, and in one piece after
a weekend staying with us while her parents went to a wedding in Cornwall
I may have to come back to you on that one.

  1. Great photos, you're a brave soul babysitting all weekend.

  2. Lovely metaphor, lovely little one.

  3. Lucky you ! What were the crushed petals going to become ?

    1. "Perfume". But in truth, compost.

  4. Love the view from Standen ... and the bothy and the exquisite textiles. Last time we visited we added to our collection of NT roofscapes and enjoyed spectacular views over the Weald. I used to constantly find petal potions composting under my daughter's bed. Have you visited Old Soar Manor? Beautiful windows and there is an interesting circular walk to it from Ightham Mote.

  5. We used to go to Igtham Moat quite often with the children. I don't think we ever went to Old Soar Manor - we must rectify that. We were just too late to get into the house at Standen last time. Such a shame.

  6. I do like that first stained glass window.

  7. Pink petal perfume - the joy! I remember it well, as she will do too I expect. I love the effect of all the vegetation behind the stained glass.
